Queensbury 1940’s Committee Needs New Members

The Queensbury Community 1940’s Day Committee have worked hard planning the very successful annual 1940’s Day’s. This has been an annual event since 2014 and each year we plan to make it better than the preceding year. This event is enjoyed by many local residents and visitors from much further afield.

We do not charge for entry to the afternoon events, this makes it available to all.

We are in need of new committee members especially those from the younger generations to bring in new ideas, take over the tasks, including paperwork and many physical tasks not only on the day but the days before and after.

Some of the existing committee are now thinking of retiring mainly due to ever advancing years. They would happily assist any new members as they compete the paperwork, make arrangements and other tasks. The new members could then be in a position to take over in a few months.

Without your help, it is likely that the 1940’s Days will come to an end, so please think about joining the committee and helping bring joy into the community.

Why not visit us at our next committee meeting to be held  on Monday 11th September or at the A.G.M. to be held on Monday 9th October, both at the George III, Chapel Street, Queensbury, commencing at 6.30 pm..

If you think you may be able to help, ring Stuart on 078 1520 1650 or Joan on 07739 112426.

Queensbury Community 1940’s Day – Donations Received

Queensbury Community 1940’s Day Committee are pleased to announce that local businesses are supporting the afternoon event, which enable all members of the Queensbury community to attend this free event. Without these donations, we would struggle to keep the event free.

Scarlet Heights Private Day Nursery have made a donation of £500 for the second year running and Greenwood and Blackburn Engineering have made a donation of £50.

We thank both of these companies for their generosity to our village.
