Cancellation of Fly Past for the Queensbury 1940’s Day. The Spitfire will not be attending.

Featured

It is with regret that I have had to cancel a fly past for the Queensbury 1940’s Day that I had arranged for Saturday 23rd June 2018 as this was the date set by the old committee in August 2017.

Since then the newly elected committee (In October 2017).decided to alter the event to take place on Sunday 24th June 2018 and changed the venue to Black Dyke Mills, which has been changed yet again to an event taking place in the Conservative Club on Sunday 24th June.

The notification from the RAF is below:

Good Afternoon,

I am writing to confirm your slot time on the 23-Jun-18 for your flypast Queensbury, Yorkshire. You have been allocated a Spitfire which will be flying over @1314L, one of our pilots will contact you around 3 days prior to the event to address any weather, aircraft serviceability or timing changes.

Could I also ask for an up to date point of contact for the event, If you have any other questions please contact myself.

Kind Regards,

Adam

Queensbury Community 1940’s Day – Donations Received

Queensbury Community 1940’s Day Committee are pleased to announce that local businesses are supporting the afternoon event, which enable all members of the Queensbury community to attend this free event. Without these donations, we would struggle to keep the event free.

Scarlet Heights Private Day Nursery have made a donation of £500 for the second year running and Greenwood and Blackburn Engineering have made a donation of £50.

We thank both of these companies for their generosity to our village.
