Why not join us for an afternoon tea dance in the Conservative Club with dance teachers Sue and Nigel.
They teach jive in Halifax and Keighley and will do some lessons in the Conservative Club.
Members of the Queensbury Walking Groups are departing Queensbury on Saturday 25th February and travelling to Helwith Bridge. They will then walk up the gentle slopes of Penyghent, then reaching the steep ascent to the summit, a bit of a scramble to the top. Then down the other side to Hull Pot, Horton in Ribblesdale and a walk along the banks of the Ribble back to Helwith Bridge.
Due to the prevailing weather conditions, 59 mph winds on the summit of Penyghent and safety concerns the walk has been amended. We are now walking the Silsden area.
Penyghent will be walked perhaps next month.
Queensbury Walking Groups are having a day out on the Rochdale canal on Saturday 29th April 2017. We are hiring a narrow boat and will cruise from Hebden Bridge in the direction of Todmorden, we do not expect to arrive there due to time constraints. As usual cooking facilities are available on the boat, so we will be having delicious bacon, egg and other items in a butty cooked by the galley crew. On the return we may just have time to moor outside the Stubbing Wharfe pub for a swift one before returning the boat.
We all take turns at being the captain, steering the boat, navigating the locks and instructing the others to safely work the locks.
