I am arranging a walk for Sunday 11th May 2014.
There have been requests to tackle Penyghent, from Helwith Bridge this a 9 mile walk with a climb of 541 meters. Quite gentle at first using the track up towards Penyghent then the climb to the summit.
We have a 40 mile car journey taking 1 hour 20 mins, so we will set off at 9.00 am and start walking by 10.30 am. The walk should take 5 hours to complete, including a short lunch break. We should arrive back in the village at 5.00 pm.
No shopping on this one I am afraid. No breakfast stop either, but perhaps a cup of tea at Horton in Ribblesdale at the Penyghent Café, after we have descended Penyghent and before the walk back to Horton in Ribblesdale following the River Ribble.
Why not visit my web site at www.queensbury-village.co.uk
In it I provide all manner of information on the village of Queensbury.
